Legacy Giving

You have to be rich to make a truly impactful donation, right? Not at all! By including West End in your will, or designating us as a partial or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy, you can leave a legacy that may cost nothing during your lifetime. Options include leaving a specific asset or dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or even a percentage of the remainder of your estate (after all other obligations have been satisfied). In most cases, these types of gifts are revocable and can therefore be changed at any time. We encourage you to speak with your attorney and/or financial advisor prior to making any decisions about legacy giving. Have you already named West End as a beneficiary of your estate? Let us know by completing this form.

Gifts of Stock

Did you know that you can deduct the current value of donated shares of stock and pay no capital gains tax on the appreciated value?

To Give a Gift of Stock, please:

  • Provide your name and contact information, as well as that of your broker, the type of stock and quantity to be donated.
  • Request that your broker transfer the shares of donated stock to Morgan Stanley using DTC number 0015 and Account number 526-044292-031.
  • Advise Karen Klein, West End’s CFO via phone (302-658-4171 x 114) and email (kklein@westendnh.org) once the transfer has been completed.
  • Complete the attached form for additional instructions regarding your donation.

IRA Charitable Contribution

Did you know…that you can avoid paying federal income taxes on up to $100,000 per year? If you are at least 70 1/2 and have an IRA, you can donate up to $100,000 of the required minimum distribution to a 501(c)(3) charity and avoid paying federal income tax on that amount.

To qualify, you must be at least 70 1/2 years of age on the date of the donation and the transfer must be made directly to a qualifying charity. Consult with your tax advisor for specific details.

Planning to make a charitable contribution to West End from your IRA? Let us know by completing and emailing this form to wdavis@westendnh.org.
