Youth Services

Our services include afternoon and evening health education, employment, and recreational programs designed to prevent school drop-outs, drug and alcohol abuse, smoking, and teenage pregnancy among high-risk urban youth.

Youth Services Program

Our Youth Services Program (YSP) targets at-risk urban youth between the ages of 6 to 17, January through December.
$10.00 annual fee for the first child; $5.00 for each additional sibling.

Summer Camp

West End Neighborhood house offers a nine-week camp experience, June through August and Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., designed for children 5-12 which takes full advantage of our Child Development Center located at 1725 W. 8th street and our main building at 710 N. Lincoln Street.

Activities include recreational and instructional swimming, developmentally appropriate educational games, computer labs, math and reading classes, arts and crafts, cooking, gym sports, ballet, drama, and special events and day trips. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are served daily.

Camp fees are based on a sliding scale.

Enrollment is available for one session or three sessions:

Session I:  June 11-June 29, 2007

Session II: July 2-July 20, 2007

Session III: July 23-August 10, 2007

Delaware Prevention Network Alliance (DPNA)

DPNA is funded by the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth & Their Families. Office of Prevention and Early Intervention, through the federal Substance Abuse Prevention & Treatment Block Grant and the federal Safe & Drug Free Schools and Community Act, Governor's Portion.

  • All Stars targets building character to prevent high-risk behaviors in youth and teens. Through local organizations, All Stars promotes the development of positive personal characteristics. It is designed to support and motivate young people to avoid drug use and high-risk behaviors; reduce the use of gateway drugs—alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and inhalants; develop meaningful relationships with each other and institutions that serve them; and motivate them to develop positive characters and lifestyles.

  • Too Good for Drugs & Violence High School (TGFDV) is a comprehensive prevention education program for grades 9-12 designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to remain safe and drug free. TGFDV promotes Bonding, develops Positive Life Skills, and Establishes Positive, Violence and drug-free norms.

Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Summer Hours

Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
